Em cinema, La La Land - Cantando Estações é campeão indicações aparecendo em sete categorias incluindo melhor filme de comédia ou musical, melhor diretor, melhor ator de comédia ou musical (Ryan Gosling) e melhor atriz de comédia ou musical (Emma Stone). Já Deadpool é destaque em Comédias ou Musicais com indicações à Melhor Filme e Melhor Ator para Ryan Reynolds. Já a parte de TV a disputa está acirrada e vem trazendo Westworld e Game of Thrones competindo na mesma categoria, enquanto The People vs O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story lidera com um total de cinco indicações. A 74ª edição da cerimônia está marcada para 8 de janeiro, no hotel Beverly Hilton, e terá Jimmy Fallon como apresentador.
