A MTV divulgou na última quinta-feira (30) a lista de indicados ao Video Music Awards deste ano. A cerimônia de entrega dos prêmios acontece no dia 30 de agosto, no Barclays Center, no Brooklyn, e em outros cinco lugares em Nova York, respeitando as medidas de segurança por conta do coronavírus.

Ariana Grande e Lady Gaga aparecem em nove categorias cada uma, sendo as mais indicadas deste ano. Dentre as categorias onde concorrem está a de Clipe do Ano, prêmio principal. Billie Eilish e The Weeknd aparece logo após as cantoras em seis categorias cada um, incluindo a principal.

Para a edição deste ano, a MTV decidiu adicionar as categorias de "Melhor Clipe Feito Em Casa" e "Melhor Performance da Quarentena", levando em consideração o atual cenário do mundo. Ariana Grande, Chloe x Halle, John Legend e Lady Gaga são alguns dos indicados nas categorias.
